Next we reach the idyllic Cape Sounion. Perched on the headland, surrounded on three sides by the sea, the ruins of the ancient Greek temple, dating back to 440BC, dedicated to the god of the sea Poseidon set a magical and sought-after sight. Enjoy the breathtaking view from these steep cliffs where the temple is located, as on a clear sky day, you can see numerous of the Aegean islands.
