Only for an evening in Athens? This is the tour that you should take if you want to visit all the cornerstone sites of this vibrant and historical city..
At 700m from the center of Athens is situated the majestic Temple of Zeus. Enjoy the view of Acropolis, while standing at the remains of what used to be a colossal temple dedicated to the king of ancient Greek gods, Zeus. Only minutes from there, we find the famous Panathenaic Stadium. Also known as the Kallimarmaro, this stadium was rebuilt entirely from white marble to host the 1896 Olympic games, originally held the Panathinea races, dating back to 330BC.
As we continue our tour we can observe the Old Palace now serving as the Presidential Palace and reach the contemporary Greek parliament at the front of which stands the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. There, we can watch the entrancing changing of the guards, the Evzones who guard the monument 24 hours a day, every day. From Syntagma Square we make our way to the impressive Catholic Cathedral. Furthermore, we go on to admire the three buildings called the Neoclassical Trilogy, comprised by the Academy of Arts, the National Library and the University of Athens remarkable representatives of Neoclassical architecture that magnificently decorate the heart of Athens and preserve culture and cultural progress.
Marvel next, the best view of the city, from the Lycabettus Hill. A breathtaking scenery, admired equally by locals and tourists offers a panoramic sight of modern Athens featuring its crown jewel, the Acropolis.
