This 2 days long tour will take you to some of the most spectacular sites in Greece.
First we visit Delphi, to see the ruins of the Temple of Delphi, the Sanctuary of Apollo, where is the centre of the Delphic oracle and the seat of Pythia inside the “Adyton”. Notice the Gymnasium, a series of buildings used by the youth of Delphi. The rich monuments built there by most of the important ancient Greek city-states, demonstrating their fundamental Hellenic unity, show the phenomenal influence Delphi had in the ancient world and for that UNESCO recognized it as a World Heritage Site. Finally notice the Tholos at the sanctuary of Athena Pronea (“Athena of forethought”), a circular building that was constructed between 380 and 360 BC.
Next we visit one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art the Monastery of Osios Loukas. A historic walled monastery also recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
By evening we reach Meteora, a monumental and breathtaking rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries. The six monasteries are built on immense natural pillars and hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the local area.

As we head back we make one final stop at Thermopylae (known as the Hot Gates). It is there where the world-famous battle took place, between the Greek forces (notably the 300 Spartans) and the invading Persian forces. The Hot Gates is “the place of hot springs” and in Greek mythology it is the cavernous entrances to Hades. The hot springs from which the pass derives its name still exist close to the foot of the hill.

A truly remarkable tour which is sure to offer you unforgettable experiences and feelings!
