This 2 days long tour takes you to a great tour around the beautiful sights of Peloponnese.
Marvel the Isthmus as you stand at the Corinth Canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland. Our next stop is at Ancient Corinth where we will see an ancient theater, we will visit the temple of god Apollo, and the Forum or Agora.
Going on, we will visit the country of the king Agamemnon, Mycenae. Walk into his tholos tomb which still stands intact and see the Lion Gate, the only known monumental sculpture of Bronze Age Greece. Observe the Cyclopean walls and the remains of the Palace on the acropolis of Mycenae.
Nafplion, one of the most romantic cities of Greece, will be our last destination for the first day. Enjoy the view of the water castle of Bourtzi, located in the middle of the harbor of Nafplio and see the Venetian castle of Palamidi. Walk in a historical city and along the picturesque harbor and have your dinner seated at the edge of the sea enjoying an idyllic view.
In the morning we leave for Ancient Olympia, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, also known for having been the site of the Olympic Games in classical Antiquity, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD.
The classical period, between the 5th and 4th centuries BC, was the golden age of the site at Olympia. A wide range of new religious and secular buildings and structures were constructed. Olympia was also known for the gigantic ivory and gold statue of Zeus that used to stand there, sculpted by Phidias, which was named one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world.
Enjoy a tour which is sure to offer you memorable experiences and take you to the most important sites of Peloponnese!
